Discography

What is it?
Discography is the most accurate exam to assess the condition of the intervertebral discs.
During the procedure a fluid is injected into the intervertebral disc nucleus; the pressure of the fluid is then monitored through a device that will display the pressure in a digital format. Depending on the condition of the disc, the discomfort you may feel will indicate to the surgeon which disc is degenerated and which phase of degeneration you are going through.

How can I prepare for the discography test?
The procedure itself will take an average of 15-20 minutes.  No anesthesia will be given to you. After the procedure you will be monitored and you will be discharged the same day.
